ANTOINE MAROIS Jurassic Normandy Cider 2024 Extra-Brut 7° 75cl Pays d'Auge

€1525 EUR

Terroir: Single-vineyard cuvée, steep south-facing hillside, shallow soil over Jurassic limestone bedrock (Oxfordian).

Apple blend: 70% bittersweet (Calard, Saint Martin, Binet rouge), 10% sweet (Rouge Duret) & 20% tart (René Martin) - residual sugars: 7g/l

Vinification: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and natural secondary fermentation in the bottle using the ancestral method.

Tasting: An intense coppery color, the nose is ripe with oxidative notes. The palate is round, mineral, and delicate. This is a gastronomic cider that will perfectly accompany, for example, a well-aged Camembert or Livarot cheese, a Thai dish, offal, or sweet and savory cuisine.

🍷 Serving temperature 8-10°

Domaine Antoine Marois is located in the heart of Pays d'Auge, Normandy. The estate spans 18 ha of natural meadows, including 7.5 ha of traditional standard apple orchards, also known as "verger de plein vent" (open-air orchards). This cultivation method, along with the use of local varieties, allows for the production of apples without any treatment products. Fréquin Rouge, Mettais, Saint Aubin, Binet Rouge, Domaine, Rambeau, these are just a few of the many varieties that constitute a remarkable living heritage and a raw material of great richness.

Antoine, an agronomist by training, traveled throughout France to meet winemakers. It is no coincidence that, attached to his roots, he returned to Normandy with the idea of producing fine ciders like wines, carefully crafted and respectful of his terroir.

Residual sugar levels in ciders/perries: extra brut (less than 15g/liter), brut (less than 28g/L), demi-sec (28 to 42g/L), and doux (more than 42g/L).
