Description: This unique blend is made with Armagnacs whose prolonged aging in barrels has naturally brought the alcohol content below the legal limit of 40% vol. (These barrels are called "forgotten casks"). Patiently discovered and selected from the cellars, we blend them with Armagnacs, the youngest of which has more than 25 years of barrel aging, to obtain a natural alcohol content of 42%. It remains aged in barrels until shipment.
Vincent Laterrade, with his experience as a former sommelier and a passionate lover of his Gers region, has been strongly dedicated to selecting fine Armagnacs for independent aging and bottling for about ten years. Thus, all year round, he travels through the region's cellars in search of treasures, old batches never bottled, sometimes never discovered, sleeping for decades in cellars from another era. His selection of Armagnacs is incredibly accurate and complex, with a keen tasting experience. Each year, superb batches emerge, like those from the greatest Scottish bottlers. The batches are never reduced, and you won't pay for the packaging, which is very sober but features very elegant bottles!
Recently, he has also been aging a white wine cuvée, Etoile Filante, in barrels, with the same care as his Armagnacs. For this, he has settled in a superb, typically Gersian barn of rammed earth and wattle and daub, which he is lovingly renovating.
