Grape varieties: 50% Pinot Noir, 50% Gamay
Terroir: Blend of two parcels located at the bottom of the village (Barrière and Gué), with rich, deep, and fairly clayey soils. Vines planted between 1960 and 1980.
Tasting note: Bright red colour. The nose is marked by aromas of blackcurrant and small red and black berries, with plenty of freshness and energy. The palate is lively and fresh from the start, with a vibrant core. A lovely fruity finish lingers.
🍷 Serving temperature: 14-16°C
Stéphane Magnien farms 4.5 hectares across Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, and Gevrey-Chambertin, producing wines from regional appellations to Grand Cru. The estate has never used herbicides since its founding in 1897, encouraging deep root systems and expressive terroir. Manual harvests, traditional vinification, and 14-18 months of ageing (unfiltered and unfined) allow each wine to reflect its origin and vintage. These are understated yet beautifully structured wines, subtle, savoury and long on the palate, authentic Burgundies for true lovers of the region.
