CHAILLON Alexandre Vitrail Base2021 Champagne Extra Brut 75cl White
Terroir: Campanian and Ypresian chalk (marl and clay), a blend of the 2018 and 2019 vintages from parcels in two villages on the southern slopes of Épernay: Brugny “Terres de Breux” (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) and Pierry “Les Renards” (Pinot Noir and Meunier).
Tasting notes: A rich, complex nose of red fruits and hazelnut; bright mineral structure, beautiful precision, and superb elegance; a true favourite!
A word from Alexandre: “Like a stained-glass window, the finesse of Brugny’s Chardonnays, the structure of Brugny’s Pinots Noirs, and the generosity of Pierry come together in harmony. I once thought only of single parcels, but this blend has won me over.”
Ageing: 228L and 300L oak barrels, 10 months on the lees.
Bottled (tirage): 20/07/2022
Disgorged: 01/2025

In 2017, after a career in engineering, Alexandre decided to return to Aÿ to work on his mother’s vineyards (Vollereaux family). The vineyards stretch across the villages on the south-facing slopes of Épernay - Brugny, Pierry, and Vaudancourt; a mosaic of terroirs composed of limestone, marl, and clay.
