Jean-Pierre Proharam created his estate, Domaine Haugarot, in 2004. His father already owned some vines, but their harvest was sold to the local cooperative. Located on the hillsides of Lasseube, his vineyards benefit from excellent exposure, with the stunning Pic du Midi d'Ossau as a backdrop.

Deeply committed to environmental sustainability and vine care, Jean-Pierre cultivates everything organically and biodynamically, with an acute sense of observation. Strongly attached to Occitan culture, he names his cuvées accordingly: "Sonqué Ta Tu" ("Nothing but for you," dedicated to his daughter) and Esberit ("Fiery," for his son).

A fun fact: For four generations, the eldest son has been named Jean as a tribute to the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, which locals affectionately call "Jean-Pierre"!
