Antonio Lopes Ribeiro and his wife, Sara Dionisio, were pioneers in the DĂŁo region for working their vines organically and biodynamically (organic certification in 1997!).
Mouraz is located in the heart of the DĂŁo region; it is AntĂłnio's birthplace, where his family has cultivated vines holistically and ecologically for many generations. The vineyard is spread across different terroirs (granite and clay) and altitudes ranging from 140 to 400 meters. Many native grape varieties coexist, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Baga, and Ăgua-Santa for red wines, and Malvasia-Fina, Bical, Cerceal, Encruzado, and Alvarinho for whites.
Later, the "Antonio Lopez Ribeiro" project was created to produce wines from other great vineyards: Vinho Verde, Alentejo, and Douro, with local winemakers also working with respect for ecology.
