FRERES SOULIER La Clastre 2043 (2020+2023!) Vin de France (Gard) 75cl Rosé
Grape Variety: Syrah, young vines.
Terroir: Very sandy soils covered with siliceous (quartz) rolled pebbles; north-facing.
Vinification / Aging: Blending technique of several vintages kept in reserve. Here it will be 2020 + 2023 = 2043! Direct press rosé, and the result is very complex and delicious. Fermentation and aging in barrels without topping up. No filtration or fining.
Tasting: A vinous rosé with citrus notes, as has often been the case with this cuvée.
🍷 Serving temperature 10-12°C, slight fizz upon opening
Domaine des Frères Soulier consists of 20 hectares of contiguous land in Saint Hilaire d'Ozilhan, a stone's throw from the Pont du Gard, on a north-facing terroir of the same type of white limestone. The goal is to create a self-sufficient place with great diversity, without neighbors and with minimal travel. 11 hectares of vines, 2 hectares of olive trees, 2 hectares of garrigue, and 5 hectares of meadows for their animals.
