LA RENOUEE Old Sémillons 2019 VdF (Cadillac) 75cl White
Grape varieties: 85% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon
Tasting notes: A gastronomic dry white wine made from old Sémillon vines planted in 1945, macerated and vinified in barrels. A mineral and spicy nose with aromas of fresh pineapple and pear, underscored by a slightly woody note. The attack is lively, the palate long and mineral. An ideal wine for baked white fish.
🍷 Serve at 10-12°C
It was on the Cadillac hillside, at Bellevue's highest point, that Guillaume had the chance to establish his small 2.8-hectare estate. The wines of Domaine de La Renouée draw their freshness from this high-altitude terroir.
This terroir is unique in Bordeaux because the red gravel soils are located at the top of the hillside. This local particularity, well known to geologists, constitutes the soul of this terroir.
Since 2019, Guillaume has left his position as Technical Manager in Saint-Emilion to embark on his own adventure, with a strong leaning towards forgotten Bordeaux grape varieties, which he is gradually replanting.
