Grape variety: Chardonnay from the “Les Boutonniers” parcel, originally planted in the 1950s in the village of Frontenay, with massal selections replanted in 2016 and 2021.
Terroir: Iridescent marl from the Upper Triassic Keuper formation in the subsoil, with limestone scree and bands of dolomite (magnesian limestone) at the surface.
Tasting notes: Ripe citrus on the nose, with length and finesse on the palate. Very saline, with notes of dried fruit and almonds… a wine of great elegance!
🍷 Serve at 10–12°C
Céline established her wine estate in 2008 with the acquisition of the “Les Combes” parcel, followed by additional plots in 2010 - totalling 3.65 hectares. To launch the winery, she received support from the "Terre de Liens" land trust, as well as a community-based system similar to an AMAP, with 71 participating families!
From the beginning, the estate has been organically farmed, guided by biodynamic principles. With the help of her horse, Octavia, Céline tends her vines - soil work is done mechanically, compost is spread by Octavia, and all other tasks are carried out by hand.
The vines are rooted in the iridescent marl of the Upper Triassic Keuper formation, where bands of dolomite (magnesian limestone) can be found - the inspiration behind the domaine’s name.
