LE PUY Barthélémy 2022 Vin de France 75cl Rouge

€12780 EUR

Grape Variety: 100% Merlot

Winemaking/Ageing: Following years of dedicated work in the vineyard, Barthélémy is now made exclusively from Merlot!

The Merlot grapes from Barthélémy's historic parcel, "Les Rocs", located directly in front of the estate, were so exceptional that the Amoreau family decided to let them shine on their own.

The grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously selected, with individual berries carefully trimmed from the bunches. Fermentation takes place using a gentle infusion method and indigenous yeasts.

The wine is aged on its lees for 24 months in seasoned oak barrels, with regular stirring. Unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: A beautiful nose of fresh, perfectly ripe grapes, so inviting you almost want to bite into them!

The palate is a wonderful combination of richness, complexity and energy, bursting with notes of blackberry, blueberry, crushed strawberries and forest floor. The tannins are silky and wonderfully velvety, revealing remarkable depth and concentration.

Worthy of a great Pomerol? Well, perhaps... but let's not get carried away! This wine has its own unique identity, and proudly so!

🍷 Serving Temperature: 18°C. Decant 2 hours before serving!

The Ultimate Food Pairing: Aged T-bone steak cooked over a wood fire.

The Amoreau family has a winemaking history dating back to 1610 and has long been a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture. Today, the 14th generation continues the family's commitment to producing wines that are as natural and authentic as possible.

The estate is located on one of the highest points in the Bordeaux region, at an altitude of 107 metres, on the same limestone plateau as Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The vines, averaging 50 years of age, are deeply rooted in limestone and red clay soils.

Of the estate's 100 hectares, 54 hectares are devoted to wine production, with different grape varieties planted together in the same vineyard parcels, while the remaining 46 hectares are dedicated to preserving the estate's natural ecosystem.

This carefully considered balance between wild landscapes and cultivated vineyards encourages a harmonious relationship between people, the vines and their natural environment.
