Grape variety: Chardonnay
Vineyard: Chalenta, an east-facing parcel at 550 metres altitude
Terroir: Grey marl soils

Tasting notes: Ripe, with exotic fruit notes. A dense palate, lifted by a light touch of volatile acidity that is well integrated, bringing energy and length. Oak ageing remains discreet throughout. The finishes are vibrant and precise, never saturating the palate.
🍷 Serving temperature: 9-10 °C
Les Terres Bariolées was founded in 2022 by Edoardo Veltroni and Claire Freist, who met while both working in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations.
The domaine farms 5 hectares of vineyards, all located around the small village of Chalus, at around 600 metres altitude, south of Issoire near Boudes.
Plantings include Chardonnay, Chardonnay Muscaté, Gamay and Pinot Noir, with new or planned plantings of Syrah and Aligoté.
The vines are farmed organically, drawing inspiration from biodynamic practices. In the cellar, vinifications are carried out without additives, and the wines are generally bottled without added sulphur.
