It all began in 1929 with the planting of the first parcel in Côte Blonde by the great-grandfather; a plot so steep it could only be reached by ox-drawn cart! The estate has since been passed down through four generations. Today, it is Agnès Levet who crafts the wines, following in the footsteps of her parents, Nicole and Bernard Levet. She continues the tradition of producing long-ageing wines that respect the Côte Rôtie terroir, while also pursuing excellence in her work in Condrieu.
The domaine comprises 4.5 hectares of terraced vineyards on schist slopes facing South to South-East, with some vines over 70 years old. The parcels are spread across several lieux-dits in the commune of Ampuis. They are planted mainly with "petite serine," the ancient local variety of Syrah known for its small, high-quality bunches, and primarily from massal selection.
