Serving temperature: 🍷 16–17°C
Tasting notes: Packed with red fruit, fresh spices, and a subtle smoky note on the nose. The palate is full and round, with soft tannins and a refreshingly crisp finish. A wine that’s both typical of the region and delightfully smooth.
Alzipratu, meaning “high meadows” in Corsican, now covers 40 hectares cultivated entirely according to organic and biodynamic principles (Demeter-certified since 2021!). The vineyards are farmed with a deep respect for life and biodiversity.
With climate change posing a major challenge for Corsican vineyards, the team at Alzipratu is exploring ways to adapt: mulching, late pruning, and encouraging natural ground cover all help the vines cope with intense summer heat.
Vinifications are kept low-intervention, and ageing is tailored to each parcel, using a mix of vessels including stainless steel, large oak casks, barrels, and amphorae.
