MAS MELLET Les Salines 2024 Vin de France 75cl Rosé
Grape variety: 100% Carignan
Terroir: Old Carignan vines from three different enclosed plots (clos), planted in 1966, 1963 and 1948.
Vinification / Ageing: Pressed and the juices run off into old barrels over 10 years old. SO₂: 15 mg/l at bottling.
A cuvée originally developed in collaboration with Eric Pfifferling (L’Anglore); which certainly sets the tone for this gastronomic rosé.
Tasting notes: What gentle delight! That’s the first thought when this beautiful deep pink nectar brushes the palate 😍 An explosion of fruit, crushed strawberries, with a mouthfeel that is savoury, rounded, enveloping and saline… just as its name suggests.
🍷 Serving temperature: 12°C
Emilie and Brice took over an estate in 2002 in the Gard region, very close to the Camargue lagoons. They quickly felt the desire to work organically and biodynamically; they therefore reduced their vineyard area to 16 hectares to make it more manageable, introduced sheep to work the vineyards during winter, and both allow themselves to be guided by the terroir.
