L’histoire de la distillerie La Salamandre à Sarlat dans le Périgord est avant tout l’histoire de son fondateur, celle d’un homme passionné et d’un entrepreneur avant-gardiste.
La distillation, Raymond Gatinel la connaît bien. Autrefois, Les premiers frimas de l’hiver annonçaient la venue de l’alambic en cuivre itinérant, sur sa carriole, tracté par un cheval. Dans tous les villages, c’était l’activité qui réunissait et réchauffait les hommes.
