Since 1988, Luis Anxo, almost a solitary pioneer, has been dedicated to recovering the traditional grape varieties of Ribeiro, and more specifically those of the Arnoia valley, his place of origin and where his heart lies. He owns 3.7 hectares spread over more than 80 plots. These are small, almost inhospitable hillside plots where old stone walls can be seen. He also owns 1.3 hectares in the Ribadavia valley, where he produces the estate's unique single-vineyard wine "A Teixa". The wines from this estate have astonishing aging potential, both white and red.
His working philosophy is simple: endemic grape varieties, manual viticulture practices as close as possible to the environment, and small yields. For Luis Anxo, the wines of Arnoia are those that express the most minerality in his appellation and can therefore be a little closed in their youth. Far from exuberance and flattery, his wines will reveal themselves on the palate through textures and sensations.
These wines are among our cellar's favorites! They are incredibly fine and delicate! They have a style somewhat reminiscent of Jura wines, very far from preconceived notions about Spanish wines!
