CHÂTEAU FREDIGNAC Merlot Moqueur 2023 Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux 75cl Red
Grape variety: Merlot
Terroir: Clay-limestone slopes on a limestone subsoil.
Winemaking: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts without additives. Maceration lasts 3 weeks. Sulphur is added at the end of fermentation. Aged in concrete tanks.
Tasting notes: The wine shows a deep, bright red colour. When swirled, a fruity nose emerges with aromas of dark fruits. On the palate, the round attack reveals a supple, easy-drinking wine. The finish highlights the richness of well-ripened grapes. A balanced, pleasure-driven wine with silky tannins.
Serving temperature: 1-17°C; the wine may contain a slight amount of gas, decant before serving.
The vineyards of Château Frédignac have been cultivated for four generations in this unique climate influenced by the Gironde estuary. In 1919, Jean-Marie L’Amouller, a Breton stopping in Blaye, fell in love with both the region and a local woman. This marked the beginning of the Château Frédignac vineyard. In 2012, nearly 100 years after the first vines were planted, Vincent and Ludivine took over the estate. Both graduates in environmental sciences, they are gradually transforming the vineyard while remaining true to the values that built Château Frédignac: respect for the land and the production of authentic wines.
