SAINT CLEMENT La Plage Vin de France (Pic Saint Loup) 75cl Red
Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Nielluccio
Terroir: On the banks of the Lez River, on deep clay-limestone soils
Tasting notes: A supple, juicy red wine with a fresh aromatic palette. Blended from the estate’s red grape varieties and several vintages, it reveals generous notes of ripe, slightly sweet fruit that round out the palate and enhance its gourmand character. Served slightly chilled, it delights with its easy-drinking nature and refreshingly light, digestible profile.
🍷 Serving temperature: 14-16°C
The Domaine de Saint Clément is a small, family-run 10-hectare estate located at the foot of the Pic Saint-Loup, in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière (Hérault). Henri Bernabé, a former nurseryman passionate about viticulture, had a dream as he approached retirement: to continue his lifelong love affair with vines and wine. After spending his professional life travelling the world to produce and sell vine plants, he decided to revive the vineyards of Domaine de Saint Clément, which had ceased wine production after the devastating frosts of 1956.
In 2025, the estate chose to convert to biodynamics, a confident transition made in full awareness of the challenges it entails. This profound change aims to strengthen soil vitality, encourage deep rooting, and guide the vine towards a more natural balance. In both vineyard and cellar, only natural preparations are now used: herbal teas, decoctions, silica, biodynamic preparations, and strictly limited quantities of copper and sulphur.
