AGATHE BURSIN

AGATHE BURSIN

Agathe Bursin dreamed of continuing the work initiated by her great-grandfather, who passed away in 1939. In 2000, she vinified her first vintage from family vines: 6 hectares located in Westhalten (south of Colmar) and mostly on the Grand Cru Zinnkoepflé, where she cultivates the 6 emblematic Alsatian grape varieties (Riesling, Sylvaner, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris). This cru is the highest in Alsace (410m), exposed southeast/southwest, bringing optimal ripeness while maintaining beautiful acidity thanks to the calcareous-sandstone soil (limestone and pink sandstone). The warm, stony soil retains the sun's rays during the day. As she tells it, her great-grandfather adored these plots because they never disappointed him, even in difficult years. In the vineyard as in the cellar, Agathe's work is precise and attentive, and her wines truly reflect her personality!
