CESAR G MARQUEZ

Since 2015, César Márquez, nephew of the famous Raul Pérez, has been working in Bierzo, one of Spain's most beautiful appellations. This magnificent, mountain-ringed vineyard is located in the continuation of Galicia, specifically in León, allowing for a convergence of oceanic and more continental climates. There is also a diversity of soils (clays, limestones, sands) which constitutes a true asset. Above all, there are talented winemakers like César who are passionate and who see Bierzo as a true appellation in the making. A soil classification project in the form of Crus is even underway...

César, for his part, works his vineyard alone, which is composed of a true mosaic of 52 plots. After several experiences, including several vinifications with his uncle, he wants to create his own wines. Very attentive to the ripeness of the grapes depending on his plots, he chooses long infusions and vinifies them one by one in barrels to produce several cuvées, including 4 single-vineyard wines. A true perfectionist at heart, he questions himself immensely, seeking finesse and just the right ripeness. And his wines are ones to watch...
