CYRIL COURVOISIER
In a wild, Mediterranean environment, near Valence, lies the picturesque Domaine de Cyril Courvoisier, at the foot of the Cornas amphitheatre. The plots, located in the Cornas, Saint Péray, and Saint Joseph appellations, cling to the steep slopes of the cornice overlooking the Rhône. The vineyard is magnificently surrounded by nature as far as the eye can see, with valleys, dense and diverse flora, pine trees, oaks, juniper bushes... The granite soil is held in place by dry stone walls, rehabilitated by Cyril. Indeed, he entirely cleared his vineyard, after 80 to 100 years of abandonment of the old terraces (following phylloxera or the world wars), to replant Syrah (Cornas and Saint Joseph) and Marsanne and Roussanne (Saint Péray) grape varieties, with a high proportion of massal selections. The vineyard is cultivated respectfully using Organic Farming practices with few inputs and particular attention paid to the carbon footprint.
