DISTILLERIE TWELVE Basalte Whisky bottled 06/2024 48% 50cl Single Malt Whisky France

€7015 EUR

This single malt is a blend of different types of casks: Bourbon, Port, Pineau des Charentes, Monbazillac, rum, and new casks. This whisky was blended after several years of aging to achieve perfect harmonization of aromas and perfect alcohol integration.

It was bottled by gravity, without filtration or coloring, at 48%, after a slow reduction over several months.

AGE: 36 months
AGING: Blend of different types of casks: red wine, cognac, pineau des Charentes, PX, new cask.

Tasting: Captivating nose, notes of candied fruits, quince cooked in a cauldron, spring honey, calisson d'Aix, then opening up to aromas of raisin, pastry cream, a touch of vanilla is also present. The palate is very rich and smooth. The finish is relatively powerful but very long, with woody and spicier aromas appearing.

The Twelve distillery (Twelve, like the department...) is located in Laguiole on the Aubrac plateau. Its Celtic origins, peat bogs, and pure water echo the motherlands of whisky: Scotland and Ireland. This French distillery is established at an altitude of over 1000 meters!

Its symbol is the bull from ancient times. The first letter of the Proto-Sinaitic alphabet, one of the oldest known, the logo aims to honor the emblematic animal of Aubrac, but also the volcanic geology of the region, millions of years old, guaranteeing the exceptional water that is the basis of this whisky.

The philosophy at Twelve Whisky d'Aubrac: connecting the ancestral with modernity, tradition with purity.
