DISTILLERIE TWELVE Basalte Cask Strength Whisky bottled 09/2022 57% 50cl Single Malt Whisky France

€8336 EUR

This single malt is the result of blending different types of casks: red wine, cognac, Pineau des Charentes, PX, and new oak. This whisky was blended after several years of aging to achieve perfect harmony of aromas and ideal alcohol integration.

It was bottled by gravity, unfiltered and uncolored, at 57% cask strength.

AGE: 36-53 months in humid and dry cellars
AGING: Blend of different cask types: red wine, cognac, Pineau des Charentes, PX, new oak. Unpeated.

Tasting notes: Captivating nose, with notes of candied fruit, cauldron-cooked quince jam, spring honey, and Aix calisson. The whisky opens with aromas of raisin, pastry cream, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is
indulgent, smooth but slightly spicy, a reminder of its 57%. The mid-palate is generous and full, retaining much dynamism. The finish is relatively powerful but very long, with woody and spicier aromas appearing.

The Twelve distillery (Twelve, like the department...) is located in Laguiole on the Aubrac plateau. Its Celtic origins, peat bogs, and pure water echo the whisky motherlands: Scotland and Ireland. The French distillery is established at over 1000 meters above sea level!

Its symbol is the bull from ancient times. As the first letter of the Proto-Sinaitic alphabet, one of the oldest known, the logo aims to honor the emblematic animal of Aubrac, but also the region's millions of years old volcanic geology, which guarantees the exceptional water that is the basis of this whisky.

The philosophy at Twelve Whisky d'Aubrac: to connect the ancestral with modernity, tradition with purity.
