HAUT BERBA
Vincent Maysounave teamed up with Fabien Jouves to jointly create this vintage in the Jurançon region, specifically near Lucq-de-Béarn. A few years ago, after Vincent had dedicated an enormous amount of time and energy to planting and structuring his vineyard alone, it was hit by a flavescence dorée outbreak, forcing him to uproot everything... Several hypotheses ran through his mind, including the idea of giving it all up. Then he got back to it! Fortunately, at the time, it wasn't his sole source of income. So he decided on a smaller vineyard, made up of good quality plants from mass selection. His friend Fabien Jouves offered him to make wine with him at his place. This vintage was thus born and it continues to break the mold of the Jurançons we know. It reminds us of another winemaker, in Lucq-de-Béarn, who had similarly broken the appellation's codes...
