Grape Variety: Pais 100%

Region: Maule Region, 400km south of Santiago.

Soil: Sandy soil and decomposing granite

Vinification: Primeur wine. Carbonic maceration 50% whole cluster for 8 days, 50% destemmed. Blended after fermentation is complete. No filtration, less than 1 gram of sulfur added during bottling.

Tasting: Crisp, juicy primeur with aromas of cherry, wild strawberry, typically slightly smoky. Good and refreshing acidity and low tannins. A thirst-quenching fusion between Beaujolais & Chile.

Louis-Antoine Luyt first arrived in Chile in 1998. His journey began with cooking before finally becoming interested in wine. He traveled between France and Chile, but with a real desire to make wine, Louis-Antoine trained in viticulture in Beaune before setting up as a winemaker in Chile with his cousin, Matthieu de Genevraye. Together in 2006, they created Clos Ouvert. But with an earthquake, which strongly impacted their estate, they were forced to close their business.

Louis-Antoine continued by creating his own wine structure, always with the aim of producing quality natural wine. Thanks to his convictions, his work, and patience, Louis-Antoine Luyt has established himself as a pioneer in wine. His emblematic grape variety is Pais.
