MICHEL COUVREUR Hexanobile French Blended 46° 70cl Malt Whisky

€8561 EUR

Hexanobile, aged for a minimum of 8 years, is a blend of around ten carefully selected casks: 8-year-old whisky from the "V" distillery matured in Fino casks, 8-year-old peated and unpeated whisky from the "R" distillery matured in Pedro Ximénez casks, and 12-year-old whisky from the "D" distillery matured in Amontillado and Oloroso casks.

The emphasis is on balance and harmony, combined with remarkable aromatic concentration. Rich distillates, very old and expressive casks, and just a subtle hint of peat bring this blend together beautifully. The finish reveals notes of roasted coffee beans. Powerful and intensely aromatic, yet wonderfully delicate and refined.

This expression will be available for at least five years, until the House's own distillates are ready.

The whiskies of Michel Couvreur are synonymous with exceptional ageing, maturation and Sherry casks. Michel Couvreur had a highly personal vision of whisky and dedicated his work and research to exploring its evolution through maturation from 1978 onwards.

Deep within galleries carved into the Burgundian rock, 10 metres underground, where humidity is exceptionally high and silence and tranquillity reign, the whiskies slowly evolve, mature and develop their character.

Combined with an outstanding selection of coveted casks sourced from some of the finest bodegas and wine estates, these conditions allow the whiskies to develop remarkable elegance, depth and nobility over years of maturation.

Although Michel passed away in 2013, his philosophy and legacy live on in the capable hands of his cellar master, Jean Arnaud Frantzen, and his son-in-law, Cyril Deschamps, supported by Michel's wife, Marthe, and their daughter, Alexandra.
