PATRICE COLIN
Domaine Colin boasts 8 generations of winemakers! This makes it the oldest wine estate in the Coteaux du Vendômois! Today, the estate spans 25 hectares of vines, primarily Chenin, Pineau D’Aunis, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Gamay. The vines are planted at a very high density of 7500 plants per hectare to promote competition and concentration. The uniqueness comes from the flints of the Loir Valley and the clay-limestone subsoil, coupled with a very favorable microclimate with little rain and ideal sunshine thanks to good exposure. Particular care is given to the vines: managed organically, the soil is nourished and aerated to promote microbial life. Winemaking is non-interventionist, using indigenous yeasts.
