COTEAUX D HUGIER
Coteaux d'Hugier in Haute-Saône, in the village of Hugier northeast of Dijon in Burgundy, Serge Ballot has run a certified organic mixed farm since 1993, growing vegetables, raising cattle and sheep, cultivating cereals, and tending 5 hectares of vines. A true vigneron paysan, he believes in healthy, living agriculture.
You can feel it in the wines made from Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay, and Auxerrois, full, expressive cuvées that highlight the quality of these lesser-known terroirs, showcased under the IGP Franche-Comté. His daughter Camille is now gradually taking over the reins.
