TORRACCIA

Returning from Africa, Christian Imbert fell in love with this vineyard in 1964, with a long-term vision in harmony with the preservation of the terroir, nestled between the sea and the Corsican mountains.

He cleared, moved, or destroyed rocks and prepared soil that had never before hosted grapevines. On the south-east facing slopes of granitic sand, he planted 43 hectares of vines, exclusively noble varieties, setting the goal from the outset of creating a vineyard capable of producing a quality cru.

Far from the trends of the time, he planted typical Corsican varieties and began the fight for Corsican AOCs, creating UVA Corse (in 1972), which brought together the best wine-bottling vignerons.

Since 2008, his son, Marc Imbert, has taken over the reins of the vineyard.

Even today, the vines are organically hand-tended,
without herbicides or pesticides.
