CLOS DES JARRES Origines 2021 IGP Peyriac 150cl Magnum Red

€5795 EUR

Grape varieties: Grenache Gris 50%, Cinsault 18%, Mourvèdre 15%, Grenache Noir, Alicante, Carignan Blanc and Rouge, Clairette Blanche, and Grenache Blanc; 9 red and white grape varieties in total.

From very old vines of around 90 years. Fully destemmed, 3-month maceration, 10 months of ageing in amphorae. This is the last vintage to Vivien’s great dismay, everything had to be uprooted due to disease… :(

Total SO2: 13 mg/l, unfined, unfiltered.

Tasting notes: Great aromatic complexity, dense dark fruit, smooth, sweet-edged and velvety, with a very beautiful length…

🍷 Serving temperature: 18°C, ageing potential 8 years.

A fine estate of 25 hectares farmed organically, Clos des Jarres was created in 2010 by Vivien Hemelsdael in the villages of Laure and Caunes Minervois, at the foot of the Montagne Noire in the Aude. Vivien, who took over from his parents who used to bring their grapes to the cooperative, tends his vines and guides his wines with the utmost respect for his terroirs and his plants, giving rise to complex, vibrant wines full of life.
