New arrivals
Some great new arrivals this month! To begin, a fantastic shipment of several single-vineyard and natural ciders from Antoine Marois and Cyril Zangs ! Both are in Normandy in the Pays d'Auge; they work like true winemakers, or rather "cider makers"! The ciders to discover have profiles sometimes mineral, sometimes with beautiful tannins, but will always be excellent table companions, whether with seafood or meat!
Also new in Champagne and Alsace, the young couple Justine and François Petit-Boxler from Domaine de la Rogerie ! Justine is from Alsace, he is from Champagne; together they produce splendid wines in Avize in Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs and also create an Alsace Pinot Blanc cuvée. Very fine gastronomic cuvées to discover!
A small (but great!) new arrival at the cellar to discover in Burgundy, it's the Domaine Henri Richard in Gevrey-Chambertin! Today, the 4th generation works beautiful biodynamic plots in Gevrey-Chambertin, including 2 Grand Cru plots. An old-fashioned style, far from artificial heavy extractions, no flash but depth and finesse that really enthusiastic us!
And many of our favorite winemakers are also back!
Les Déplaude de Tartaras are back! This small domain in the Rhodanien Hills was a great success in our shop! Some of the cuvées you loved are returning: Ciel d'Orage, le Renard & le Bouc, but also a lively new 100% Gamay Hop-Là to try!
From Burgundy, we've brought back the lovely Pinot Noirs from Domaine Bart, a reliable value at gentle Burgundian prices.
Also, a beautiful cuvée is back, the Domaine Apatia in Irouléguy and the lovely Maialena! She divides her time between her job as a wine merchant in Biarritz and working with her sister on family vineyard plots. A full and elegant cuvée that celebrates our Pyrenees!
Finally, back in the cellar and much to our liking, the Domaine des Jumeaux in a rather unknown vineyard in IGP Vendée. It is a beautiful undulating vineyard on the banks of the Yon, worked since 2009 by Jean-Marc Tard, in the old style! Animal traction, natural winemaking; the wines are even labeled S.A.I.N.S. (Label: Sans Aucuns Intrants Ni Sulfites Ajoutés - No Added Inputs or Sulfites) A juicy and complex cuvée to discover or rediscover!
