Located in Kali Sikia, on the foothills of Mount Krioneritis in Crete, the wine estate Zoumberakis is a third-generation family estate cultivating native grape varieties at 600–800 m altitude on granite soils rich in quartz, iron, and mica. Certified organic and embracing natural winemaking, the estate works without additives, filtration, or added sulfites. Indigenous yeasts guide the fermentations, and aging is minimal and gentle in neutral vats or large barrels. The estate highlights forgotten or local varieties like Vidiano, Liatiko, or Kotsifali, producing vibrant, juicy wines with a strong sense of place. A beautiful Cretan gem to keep an eye on.
