THE BERTRANDS

Domaine Les Bertrand is now in its 3rd generation with the arrival of Yann in 2012! It all began with Louis Bertrand in the 1950s, who settled in the commune of Chanteray and then later took over Château de Grand Pré in Fleurie! It was then up to the following generations to carry on the legacy. His son Guy acquired several plots adjacent to the Château in the 1990s. At this point, the desire was already to abandon pesticides & co and adopt a sustainable approach. They also began fermenting without added yeast and without SO2. It was therefore natural that Yann developed a passion for natural wines and biodynamics! Working the soil with compost, understanding microbiology, particular attention to endemic flora, biodynamic treatments – the winemaking is completely natural. It is a living and vibrant wine that he seeks to convey!!
