Dominique DUFOUR Les Aussigouins 2023 VdF (Anjou) 75cl White
Grape variety: Chenin
Terroir: Schist and spilite — a soil of volcanic origin
Ageing: Aged in barrels without added sulphites
After a career in the aerospace industry in Paris and Bordeaux, Dominique Dufour and his wife Marie-Claude decided, upon retirement, to return to Rablay-sur-Layon, Dominique’s family village. They moved into his parents’ old winegrower’s house, set up a tiny winery, and reclaimed a few parcels of vines. And not just any vines; 70 ares in a single block on the Aussigouins parcel, just opposite Richard Leroy’s famed Noël de Montbenault.
Dominique tends his vineyard like a garden. With organic farming and biodynamic principles, he manages to express the vibrant voice of his terroir with clarity and respect.
