It all began in 1929 with the planting of the first plot in Côte Blonde by the great-grandfather; a plot then only accessible by ox cart! The estate has since been passed down through four generations. Today, Agnès Levet crafts the wines, following in the footsteps of her parents Nicole and Bernard Levet. She perpetuates the tradition of a great aging wine that respects its terroir in Côte Rôtie and develops her pursuit of quality wines in Condrieu. There are 4.5 hectares of terraced vineyards on schistous hillsides, facing South-South-East, with some vines over 70 years old! They are spread across several lieux-dits in the commune of Ampuis. The plots are planted mainly with "petite serine," the old variety of Syrah, specific to the Ampuis terroir, which produces small, high-quality bunches, and through massal selection.
