Terroir: Blue and orange slate

Tasting Notes: Intense yellow, slightly orange nuances, clear with notes of apricot, peach, and mirabelle plum, all with great delicacy. some spices too... the palate offers a beautiful balance between richness and present, yet non-aggressive, acidity. the fruits present on the nose are echoed, punctuated by spices.

Located in Scherwiller in the Bas-Rhin, Domaine Achillée has been cultivating its vineyard biodynamically for over 20 years. The Dietrich family even takes this eco-responsible approach further by building the largest straw cellar in Europe. Suffice it to say that nothing is left to chance in faithfully reproducing the essence of their plots planted on a mosaic of different soils: gravel, sandstone, schist, clay, and granite. Natural winemaking allows typical Alsatian grape varieties such as Riesling, Muscat, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir to express themselves authentically, as close to the terroir as possible.
