Nothing better than listening to the winemaker: "My grandfather and father were passionate about Petit Verdot. This love for this grape variety means that I inherited old plots of Petit Verdot, one of which is over 60 years old.
Petit Verdot is traditionally used only in blends, an often misunderstood and sometimes neglected grape variety. For us, it has always held a special place, which became even more significant in 2023. Indeed, after fermentation and before blending, I had this tank of old Petit Verdot from a hillside in Saint Laurent (... du Médoc).
Its aroma impressed me. The aromas of red fruits (cranberry, redcurrant), accompanied by spicy notes (white/black pepper), and with a remarkable olfactory intensity, convinced me to express it through its own cuvée. This is how the Cuvée Le Petit Verdot de La Bridane was born."

Château La Bridane is a 15-hectare estate located in the Saint-Julien appellation. It is one of the few remaining family-owned properties in the Médoc! The vines are planted on gravelly soils, typical of the great Médoc appellations.
