CHARTOGNE TAILLET Sainte Anne Base 2022 Mise Juillet23-Dég. Septembre25 Champagne Merfy Extra Brut 75cl White
Grape varieties: 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 10% Meunier – aged 9 months in oak barrels
Terroir: Clay soils, sandy soils, and areas with more limestone-rich subsoils
Tasting notes: Often opulent at first sip, then the salts from the sandy soils bring a mouthwatering bitterness. The finish reveals a tight, precise structure reminiscent of the finest Champagne origins.
Bottled: July 2023
Disgorged: September 2025
Dosage: 2.5 g/L, 80% from the 2022 vintage and 20% reserve wines
The Taillet family’s winemaking heritage dates back to 1490 with Nicolas Taillet. Alexandre Chartogne, who trained under Anselme Selosse in Avize, carries on this ancestral savoir-faire, working his vines by hand and tending the soils with the help of his horses.
