Small hillock between the cherry orchard mound and the Puy mound, clay-sandy soil over white tuffeau, 30% stoniness (providing warmth and good drainage), ten-year-old vines, 1-week maceration with whole bunches, one year aging in 4 to 8-wine barrels.

Tasting notes: Hints of Northern Syrah on the banks of the Loire... black fruits, flowers, smoky and peppery notes with a palate that is devilishly fresh and thirst-quenching! Simply velvety!

Domaine Mélaric is composed of Mélanie and Aymeric, both with solid experience in the wine world before settling in the Loire region in 2006. They set up shop in the beautiful Saumur area, Puy Notre-Dame, gradually acquiring their 4 hectares of vines. It is a hill with magnificent tuffeau soils, highly sought after for their minerality, and where more and more young winemakers are settling! Their bio-biodynamic approach to their work, as well as the practice of gentle and patient aging, bring purity and minerality.
