Founded in 1963, the Cooperativa de Garriguella was born from the union of small winegrowers deeply rooted in their land and village. For over 60 years, it has embodied a collective spirit, artisanal work and the determination of a large family convinced that unity was the key to modernising tools, optimising agricultural work and producing high-quality wines faithful to their terroir and to the identity of the Alt Empordà.

Over the decades, the cooperative has established itself as one of the historical pillars and most firmly rooted players of the D.O. Empordà. Its ambitious project has helped to enhance the territory, vineyards and local gastronomy, making the region a recognised wine and food destination.

By combining tradition and innovation, past and present, the cooperative gave birth to Celler Gerisena, a project that reflects the landscape, culture and origins of Empordà.

Today, the Cooperativa de Garriguella brings together 55 members, farms 160 hectares of vineyards, has been part of the D.O. Empordà since 1975, and has been included in the Empordà Wine Route since 2013. It also features an agri-shop selling local products, a gastronomic space, and offers a wide range of wine tourism experiences.
