After a first career in the art world, Esther Dubouloz discovered the world of wine in 2016, working as a seasonal vineyard worker at a biodynamic estate in Bordeaux. From there, everything fell into place! She completed her diploma in viticulture and oenology in 2020, learnt the art of horse-powered vineyard work near Pommard in 2021, gained cellar experience in Provence and managed a small estate in Madiran in 2023.
In 2024, Esther decided to take the plunge and start making wine under her own name. A former classmate of Julien Baudouin from Chai Côtier, she adopted a similar approach, sourcing beautiful grapes from carefully selected growers across South-West France, including Sébastien Fezas and Domaine Maouries, and vinifying them as naturally as possible in her cellar in Cannet, near Madiran.
Fibreglass tanks, a little stainless steel and a large 500-litre oak barrel for ageing, all with a philosophy of making pure, honest wines without unnecessary intervention.
A very promising start for this exciting young winemaker!
