François Cotat inherited his father's vineyards on 3 of Sancerre's finest terroirs! And thanks to his winemaking talent, he quickly became a major reference in Sancerre. He works just over 2 hectares of vines on the steep slopes of Chavignol. The soils are composed of Kimmeridgian marl: dry, very stony limestone with flint, clay, and silica. Each of the 3 vinified parcels has its own character: more fruity or more smoky, always chiseled, mineral. His vinification methods are low-intervention, and the cuvées have great aging potential.
