DOMAINE MONBLANC Manseng.s Vin de France 75cl White oxidative
Grape varieties: Gros Manseng & Petit Manseng
Terroir: Clay-limestone soils
Ageing: 2017 vintage, two forgotten barrels, left untopped until bottling in 2025, with just a small addition of lees in 2024.
Tasting notes: A wonderful surprise from a wine left free and untopped for such a long time. A beautiful, intense luminous colour; a vibrant nose of citrus and dried fruits; a palate full of tension, at once very juicy and generously textured. A wine that is anything but tired; quite the opposite. We love it.
🍷 Serving temperature: 14–15 °C.
In 1985, Daniel Saint-Orens set a new course for the family farm: cattle out, grapes in. By planting vines on the heights of Maumusson-Laguian, he fully embarked on the Madiran adventure. In 2021, his son Florian returned home after gaining experience in other domaines. Bursting with ideas, he holds nothing back in working his 10 hectares planted with Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng and Colombard. Now in organic conversion, and vinifying in a range of vessels (barrels, jars and tanks), Florian seeks fresh expressions that remain closely tied to his clay-limestone terroir.
