LES TERRES BARIOLES Les Chirouzes Pinot Noir 2024 IGP Puy de Dôme (Auvergne) 75cl Red

€3970 EUR

Grape Variety: Pinot Noir

Les Chirouzes, a south-facing plot at 600m altitude

Terroir: Paper shales, marls and dolomitic limestone to the west; sandy-clayey to sandy-calcareous colluvium to the east

Vinification and aging: whole cluster fermentation in concrete tanks, aged in 228l barrels for 12 months

Tasting notes: Well-colored, dark, ripe nose, red and black fruits, spicy. The palate is ultimately quite fresh, not too rich, the tannins are already well refined and lovely, but they will need some time to fully settle.

🍷 Serving temperature: 16°C

The Les Terres Bariolées estate was created in 2022 by Edoardo Veltroni and Claire Freist. They met while both working in the prestigious Burgundy appellations.

The estate comprises 5 hectares of vines. All plots are located around the small village of Chalus, at an altitude of 600 meters. Chalus is located south of Issoire, near Boudes. The grape varieties consist of Chardonnay, Chardonnay Musqué, Gamay, and Pinot Noir. New plantings are underway or planned, including Syrah and Aligoté.

The vines are managed organically, drawing inspiration from biodynamic practices. In the cellar, vinification is carried out without additives, and the wines are most often bottled without added sulfur.
