DELAUNAY Folle Blanche 2024 Vin de France (Muscadet) 75cl White
Grape variety: 100% Folle Blanche
Terroir: Stony soils, generally sandy (from decomposed rock), shallow in depth, with a subsoil of granodiorite (calc-alkaline granite) and gneiss.
Tasting notes: Fresh and lively, a wine driven by citrus notes and an exuberant salinity.
🍷 Serving temperature: 10°C
Antoine Delaunay, a young winemaker aged 36, is a local native who returned to the family estate in 2015, diplomas in hand. Conversion to organic farming had already begun in 2011 with his father, Philippe. They then stopped selling their grapes to négociants and consolidated their parcels to create Delaunay Vignerons. Today, the 28 hectares are carefully tended, the grapes are vinified naturally, and long ageing on lees has been adopted for several cuvées. Fine work indeed.
