DOMAINE AUX MOINES Savennières Roche aux Moines 2024 150cl Magnum White
Grape varietal: 100% Chenin, 45-year-old average age vines over 10 hectares
Tasting notes: Floral and intense, with aromas of white flowers and yellow fruits evolving towards complex notes of acacia and candied fruits. A sleek style, all in tension and noble reserve. Great vibrant minerality and a wine for aging.
Aged for 18 months in barrels and foudres.
🍷 Serving temperature 12°
The Domaine aux Moines is located in France in the charming small village of Savennières in the Loire Valley, south of Angers, at the top of the prestigious hillside of La Roche aux Moines, on the right bank of the Loire.
The entire vineyard is located all around the house. A part of the vines is within the walled park itself, adjoining trees and fruit trees, thus agroforestry is at the heart of the estate. The 12 hectares benefit from a microclimate and an ideal south/south-west exposure for optimal development of Chenin, the unique grape variety at the origin of the wines of the Savennières Roche aux Moines appellation.
The soils are composed of sandstone shales, purplish, green-gray and rhyolite.
The vines are cultivated organically, with biodynamic practices.
All decisions are made based on extensive reflection and observation, with respect for the environment and biodiversity. Nothing is done systematically.
