The Frères Mignon, Florent and Julien, took over their father’s vineyards in 2015 and are part of the new generation of Champagne growers. They are fortunate to work 8.5 hectares of vines with an exceptional genetic heritage, including massal selections, across the Grand Cru villages of Avize and Cramant, as well as the Premier Cru villages of Cuis and Cumières, the latter planted with Pinot Noir.
The estate is farmed organically and according to biodynamic principles. The wines generally do not undergo malolactic fermentation, although it is not deliberately blocked, which helps them retain a distinctive freshness, tension and precision.
And for a more playful touch, the two brothers are big comic-book fans and have given each of their barrels the name of a comic-book hero.
