Domaine Colin represents eight generations of winemakers, making it the oldest wine estate in the Coteaux du Vendômois.

Today, the estate covers 25 hectares of vines, planted mainly with Chenin Blanc, Pineau d’Aunis, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Gamay.

The vines are planted at a very high density of 7,500 vines per hectare, encouraging competition between the plants and resulting in greater concentration in the grapes.

The distinctive character of the wines comes from the flint soils of the Loir Valley and the clay-limestone subsoil, combined with a particularly favourable microclimate: low rainfall, ideal sunshine and excellent vineyard exposure.

Great care is taken in the vineyard. The estate is farmed organically, with particular attention paid to nourishing and aerating the soil in order to encourage microbial life.

Winemaking follows a low-intervention approach, using the estate’s naturally occurring indigenous yeasts.
