BULLION 10 Year Old 2011/2021 40% 70cl Barbados (Foursquare)

RUM BULLION is the old name for rum. Rum was first mentioned in documents from Barbados around 1650, where it was called "Kill-Devil" or "Rumbullion" (a word possibly from Devonshire, England, meaning "great tumult"). In the English colonies, this alcoholic beverage made from sugar cane or molasses was called KillDevil, and in the French islands, it was rather called Rumbullion (which can be translated as "sugar cane broth"). Later abbreviated, it became rum and rhum.

Tasting Notes: Colour: Deep gold Nose: Dry and tart, slightly earthy with a hint of wax and white peaches. Palate: Pure, natural sugarcane juice with touches of pineapple and superb notes of mandarins. It is subtle, elegant, and rather refreshing. Finish: Fresh mandarin.

The island of Barbados is recognized as the original birthplace of Caribbean rum. The aromatic profile is typical of this terroir where exotic fruits dominate.
The Foursquare distillery is one of the most exciting in terms of quality and clarity of production. The rums produced there are very typical, with two different stills (Column and Pot Still) then blended for aging! It is a distillery recognized on the international scene.
