Franck Lihour, drawing on his experiences abroad, settled in 2014 on the family estate, Domaine Castéra, which has existed for 5 generations since 1885! The vineyard is composed of 4 lieux-dits divided into 14 micro-parcels that are cultivated differently according to altitude, maturity, grape varieties... The vines are worked with respect for common sense, based on observation and feeling. The fight against vine diseases is carried out with natural products (copper, sulfur, essential oils,...) and the soils are nourished with manure, rocks, and multiple plants (cereals, legumes, crucifers). Harvesting is done by hand and by successive sorting, winemaking is simple and aging is gentle (stainless steel, large containers, sandstone eggs). In short, his wines are authentic, fruity and deep at the same time, revealing all the minerality of the beautiful Jurançon terroirs.
